Do you believe in the rain witch?
It is against our logic that a mere man can hold mother nature from giving us even the slightest drop of rain during the monsoon season in the tropic Indonesia. However, the rain witches are our only hope when it comes to preventing rain to fall on certain important days: concerts, weddings, you name it. Last Saturday Jakarta was rocked by the outdoor music festival: Playground. It had been raining perpetually every evening for the past week before the event, and suddenly it was cloudy but perfectly dry during the concert. This did not only happen once, it happens every time a big outdoor events is held. Coincidence? Maybe, who the hell knows. Then the following Monday, the dark cloud was already looming over the city at 10am in the morning, and within minutes, it was a downpour.
